SIMUL8-Planner is the first system that combines Planning and Scheduling with Simulation. Simulation is a tool that provides the ability to test scenarios in a risk-free environment.
Main features of SIMUL8-Planner:
- Indexing Tables it is the way that data can be automatically sorted. By utilizing Indexed tables and their associated commands, it is possible to find information much quicker than using Visual Logic. A comprehensive set of Visual Logic commands will be provided that allow you to: find specific orders; find orders with the same order information; create new orders; remove orders; identify the main sorting criteria; find an order number.
- Interactive Displays. Gantt charts are used to present the schedules. This is a completely customizable view, with drag and drop capabilities. By utilizing Visual Logic commands to draw the Gantt yourself, you can gain complete control over the end result, such as the following: with code on drag and drop, you can determine whether the job can be moved in order to create a new plan; a customizable menu allows the user to provide options on right click of the chart; pop-up windows provide the user with defined data by job on the Gantt chart; search on an order number to identify its place in the chart for expediting purposes and produce a report on its progress through your facility. Email functions will send this report to your client to ensure excellent customer service; create customized views dependent on the user's login to the system - provide only the information that is key to their job.
- Calendars. A calendar of activities can be specified for each piece of equipment, each resource, and even the simulation as a whole. SIMUL8-Planner allows the user to set-up as many or as few calendars as are required by the simulation model. If different pieces of equipment, or different resources, run on different schedules, then individual calendars are required. Once a calendar has been defined and assigned to a certain area, it is quick and easy to determine when certain areas within the simulation model are available for planning purposes. Calendars can be set-up, re-assigned, and altered using Visual Logic commands to provide the most flexibility for developers to provide platforms for user data-entry.
